I've never blogged before and I don't necessarily intend to blog often because 1) I don't typically have much to say and 2) I don't know who would want to read what I do have to say. The main reason I'm creating this blog is to start the "101 Things in 1001 Days" Challenge. I got the idea for this challenge from a friend/former roommate, Jessica, and have wanted to do it since I first saw her blog about it! I plan to use this blog as a way of tracking my progress and holding myself accountable for doing what I say I'm going /want to do (if people actually do follow this they will probably be interested in my progress). Also, I welcome any tips regarding my list (travel ideas/specials, books I can borrow or should read, etc) and if anybody would like to join in on any of my adventures, please let me know! Anyway, here it goes:
The Challenge:
Complete 101 preset tasks in a period of 1001 days
The Criteria:
Tasks must be specific (i.e. no ambiguity in the wording) with a result that is either measurable or clearly defined. Tasks must also be realistic and stretching (i.e. represent some amount of work on your part).
Why 1001 Days?
Many people have created lists in the past - frequently simple challenges such as New Year's resolutions or a 'Bucket List'. The key to beating the procrastination is to set a deadline that is realistic. 1001 Days (about 2.75 years) is a better period of time than a year, because it allows you several seasons to complete the tasks, which is better for organizing and timing some tasks.

Some tips/hints :) I just skimmed your list, (It's late, bedtime!) but I will definitely be following you & maybe even joining in on this! I love following blogs.. :D Good luck!
ReplyDelete#29 Get home videos converted to DVD; You can get this done at Wolf Camera & Video or even Dub King. My mom works @ Wolf on De Zavala (in the HEB shopping center.) & Dub King is over on Callaghan, I think in the Sun Harvest shopping center at i10.
#43 Attend the midnight premier of a movie; We got midnight passes to Captain America cuz 98.5 was outside Walgreens by my boyfriend's work, so look out for those radio stations ;)
#48 Do 100 sit-ups every day for a week (0/7); Now does this have to be 100 in a row or 100 throughout the day? Like when you wake up do some, after lunch do some, before bed do some..?
#49 Camp at a state park; I say you should go to the Grand Canyon & camp out there. We drove to Las Vegas last year & camped out @ GC for a few hours (It was after hours so the gates were open but no attendants to take your fees for visiting, score! ;D) Then you can knock off 3 of your items from this list :)
#68 Climb Enchanted Rock; We did this in Earth Club @ JMS!
#85 Take a fun class (i.e. photography, pottery, cake decorating, etc); Cake decorating classes at Michaels are awesome, I did that when I got my first job (the company pd for the classes, I don't know how much they cost.) I love decorating cakes! But you could also take a photography class at Wolf Camera (they mostly help you learn how to use your camera.)
Wow! Thanks for all the tips! I'm definitely planning on combining some of these goals so that it all works out cheaper in the long run. The sit-ups would be accomplished in one sitting probably at the end of the day (and probably with slight breaks in between reps of 20-25). And I do remember climbing Enchanted Rock with Earth Club but would like to do it again and actually take in the views :)
