Weekly Gratitude #3

It's been a pretty crazy/busy week personally and at work so with 45 minutes left in the day I'm going to sit back and reflect and everything that's great in my life!
  • Birthday celebrations! Justin turned 24 this past Friday and to celebrate we all (Justin, Ryan, Abel, Jessica, Scott, Andrae and me) headed down to Port Aransas to enjoy some fun in the sun. Tropical storm Don stayed away which was great for our trip but unfortunate for Texas ("rain rain go away come again another day" PLEASE!)
  • My mom :) My mom's 54th is tomorrow (August 4th) so this is a super special gratitude shout out to her! She's the greatest person I could ever hope to know and she'll probably show up a lot more in my "Weekly Gratitude" blogs because she's such a constant and great aspect of my world. And speaking of my mom, I'm also super grateful for our awesome pedicure on Friday morning :)!
  • Catching up. A good friend of mine from grad school, Emily, called me last night and we ended up talking for about 2 hours! It's always great to hear that your friends are happy and healthy and to lose track of time while you're catching up.
  • Continuing education. No, I'm not pursuing another degree...just a professional designation! I've signed up for an online course that will help prepare me for the Appraisal Institute Comprehensive Exam (which is #5 on my list of 101 things in 1001 days) that I plan on taking in October.  It will also count toward the coursework I need to become a Certified General Appraiser (#59 on my list). Both of these things will be huge steps in my career :) I love learning!
  • The little things. Today after work I indulged in a little shopping trip at La Cantera. My original mission was to go pick up a dress at Anthropologie that I had put on hold. ..then I realized I had an Express coupon so I went there too. Basically, I ended up buying more than just the dress I originally went for (not too much more). However, out of the five things that I bought, what makes me the happiest is the coffee mug that I found at Anthropologie for only $4 :) Now I have to make the tough decision of whether it should be my work mug or home mug....decisions, decisions!

  1. Just go pick up another $4 mug for home if you use this one at work. ;) Glad to see you're going somewhere in life! General appraiser.. Like antiques roadshow appraiser or what? I think I'm going to read more of your blog. :)

  3. Haha - unfortunately that was the last one otherwise I would have bought multiple mugs! I could go bankrupt in Anthropologie...but they have some GREAT sales :)

And yes, I do commercial (as opposed to residential) real estate appraisal :)
